Jo's Guide to New York

Jo Rosenthal shows us round Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Meet Jo Rosenthal, a visual artist, writer and fashion enthusiast with a wardrobe we seriously envy, filled with one-off vintage gems and independent brands (including Lazy Oaf!). Originally from Miami, Jo made NYC her home after moving to the city to study art, art history and writing six or seven years ago. We spent the afternoon hanging out in Jo’s neighbourhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, hitting up her favourite local spots, snooping around her apartment and meeting her longtime cat companion, Kimbo.

My Apartment

I always knew I wanted to live in Greenpoint so my apartment feels like something I dreamed up. Kimbo (my cat) and I spend lots of time here deciding what to wear, cooking and watching Law and Order. I really wanted to make my Waffle House a waffle home ;)

Eat This

Peter Pan Donuts

If you can believe it, this is one of the highest rated bakeries in NYC. It opens at 4:30am so if you're leaving the club and want a donut this place is perfect. Make sure you go early because the best flavors (strawberry frosted) sell out really fast!

Probably the best ice cream in New York? I spend a lot of summer days here deciding what flavor to get only to choose strawberry, which is my favorite flavor.

The best priced vintage I've been able to find in Brooklyn. On top of that, everyone who works there is extremely nice. Whether you're looking for an 80's ball gown or some pearl earrings, this spot is incredible for all of your vintage needs.
