Looney Tunes Illustrated By Katie Bennett
The Lazy Oaf studio recently welcomed our new Studio Assistant Katie Bennett to the team so we thought we'd introduce her to you guys with a short interview and illustration set created by Katie... Â Â Â Â Who are you and what do you do at Lazy Oaf? I'm Katie Bennett; a Shropshire gal living in the big city! I'm the studio assistant; so what I do varies from week to week. I pick & pack orders, help out the team with anything they need & occasionally beautify cactus plants! What were you doing before you started your role here? I worked at Howies, a clothing company based in Cardigan, Wales. I assisted the design department & print room & they now sell tee designs of mine. I've written & continue to write articles for Ohh Deer as well as exhibiting & selling at Pick Me Up at Somerset House amongst other shows. Tell us about this illustration set? The week I came into the company was the launch of the 'Looney Tunes x Lazy Oaf' collection. I felt very privileged getting first look at the whole collection & the launch party was amazing! All this combined inspired me to start illustrating some pieces from the collection. I come from a illustration background & love the Lazy Oaf brand, so it felt natural to combine the two! Who's your favourite Looney Tune and why? Taz! I remember watching Taz-Mania so much as a kid, such a great theme tune! I recall he had right dramas when he got hungry, we can all relate to that. What was the last Snapchat you received? I'm a bit behind when it comes to apps and what not; so I don't have Snapchat nor do I know what Whats App is! If we're talking photos though, my friend & I regularly send one another photo's attempting to pull the most horrible face possible. If I had Snapchat; thats what would feature on it! Christmas is coming, what wins on your christmas dinner plate? Turkey? Roasted Potatoes? Brussel Sprouts? I'm vegetarian so its all about the veggies! I love brussel sprouts despite their bad reputation; they're little balls of Christmas fun. Christmas selection boxes end up following me round all of Christmas Day so they would probably join me at the table too. Where can we find more of your illustrations? You can see my full illustration portfolio over on supermegalovely.com. You can also follow me on Twitter & Instagram for sketches, thoughts & nonsense. Â Â
