It's been a crazy year for us at Lazy Oaf. One of plenty of highs and a few lows too but lots has happened and we have had tonnes of fun! So today we wanted to share with you our top 11 events of 2011, let us know if we've missed any.1. TURNING 10. Everyone loves a birthday but it is even more exciting when you reach double figures which is what we achieved as a brand in October 2011. So to celebrate we relaunched some of our all time favourite products, designed a limited edition 10th anniversary collection (almost all sold out!) and, most importantly, threw a BIG FAT BIRTHDAY BASH!We had chocolate burgers, balloons, booze, DJs, dancing, photo booths and a whole lot of party fun. If you didn't come then watch THIS video to get a feel for the nights events.2. NICE AND NEW The Lazy Oaf product range is forever expanding and 2011 has been no exception. With crop t-shirts, long sleeved tops, skater dresses and oversized jumpers, this really has been the year for new shapes. One of our favourites designs to come out of 2011 was our first step into outerwear, the unisex Anorak from AW 11 with fans including Stefan from the Midnight Beast and Charles of Slow Club. This year our dreams also came true when we finally launched our own range of Lazy Oaf socks with four fancy designs keeping feet happy across the globe.3. CELEBRITY SPOTSWe all love a good bit of celebrity stalking in our office and it is even better when it involves Lazy Oaf! And this has definitely been the year for celeb/oaf spots. Our designs have graced the stage of Glastonbury on Metronomy and Annie Mac, have been papped on the streets of London and have featured in many a music video. The top spot of the year was seeing style sensation Jessie J rock our Yes Way No Way T-shirt and necklaces when celebrating her album launch, way to go girl!4. GEMMA SHIEL, YOU'VE GOT STYLE! Each week we anticipate the arrival (or handing out) of The Stylist Magazine, we find their articles both inspiring and refreshing plus we love looking through the all important Style List. So when they called us up asking to interview and photograph our designer and founder Gemma Shiel, we were pretty excited! If you want to find out everything there is to know about the brains behind our brand, please read the above article (minus a few word that our scanner cut out!).5. AWARD WINNING. It's been a year of many firsts for us at Lazy Oaf and one of those was attending our first award ceremony and winning. We won the Drapers Award for the Short Order/Quick Response Brandof the Year which involved getting up on stage with lots of bright lights and having our photo taken with Tess Daly. It was pretty exciting, see this blog post to find out what went on on the night.6. CAN I TAKE YOUR PHOTO? 2011 has been an exciting year for photo shoots. Thanks to photographer Vitkor Vauthier, we've shot our clothes everywhere from a beach in the South of Spain and a bedroom in South East England. We've had our models holding dogs, running into cold seas, balancing on roof tops and jumping on trampolines. It's been hard work and a little hectic at times (especially when we very nearly missed our flights) but we've had lots of fun shooting and hope you all like the results.7. YOU GOT STYLE Nothing beats a good bit of personal style especially when it involves Lazy Oaf and you lot have really pulled out all the stops this year. We've seen our designs worn in ways we would have never come up with ourselves and we mean it when we say, you lot continue to inspire us on a daily basis. We love you guys *shed sentimental tear*. 8. COME ON INSIDE It was a big step for us to make the move from Kingly Court to Fouberts Place in 2010 but we've certainly enjoyed our new home, especially this year. Our shop has hosted a handful of events throughout the year including our Fred Butler Collection launch, SS11 party with a WAH nail bar and many a Carnaby Street discount night. One of the most notable events to happen to our store was being picked by Time Out Magazine as one of the Top 100 Shops in London coming in at #32. The Lazy Oaf shop has also been featured in this years Independent London Store Guide available to purchase in store now. 9. CREEPING BACK AGAINWhile we may have launched our Underground x Lazy Oaf Minnie Creepers last year, 2011 has definitely been the year for the brothel creeper. We bought them back once and they sold out so we bought them back again and then they sold out again. Sadly we can reveal that we will not be getting anymore back in stock BUT don't fret as we do have plenty more shoe plans up our sleeves for 2012. 10. PEEKA PEEKA With trends and tastes forever changing, we never know what you are all going to like but if there is one design that has been a hit this year then it has to be the Peekaboo Bobble Hat. This hat chap has been all over the board sitting on the pages of The Guardian, Timeout and Super Super Magazine and covering the front page of our own 10th anniversary catalogue. We've just sold our very last one today!11. SMELLS LIKE TEAM SPIRITIt's been a busy year for us at Lazy Oaf and we wouldn't have been able to get through everything if it wasn't for a good bit of team spirit and morale, with plenty of cups of tea, dodgy Spotify playlists and packets of Jaffa Cakes thrown in along the way. With 6 full timers, we're only a small team at Lazy Oaf so we all have to pull in and get our hands dirty to get things done.Above, from right to left, we have Jerry (PR/Marketing), Steph (Store Manager), Gemma (Creative Director/Designer), Shevone (Wholesale Manager) & Alex (Creative Co-Ordinator). May we also give a shout out to our account lady Gill and shop girls Zoe and Dee.So there we have it, our count down is over, let's hope 2012 has plenty more in store.P.S. Is it just us or has this year gone so fast?!
