This is How You Do It: Josh Gordon
For the second season in a row, we are turning the tables and asking you to tell us how you wear Lazy Oaf. So, we have hand picked a selection of our favourite bloggers and trend setters from far and wide and have asked them to show us how they wear our stuff. Today we're turning the spotlight on Irish blogger and talented T-shirt maker Josh Gordon. Josh wears the Polka Polo Shirt and Brain Hat from our current range and the Pyramid T-shirt and Fox Stole Scarf from previous collections. What's you name, where do you come from and what do you do? I'm Josh Gordon. A jack of all trades but master of none from Dublin, Ireland. At the moment I'm DJ'ing some fun parties, taking some pretty pictures, doing a small bit of work for Red Bull Music Academy & the main focus would be my T-shirt line & blog - FucknFilthy. Talk us through your Lazy Oaf looks In the first look I'm wearing a floral Supreme cap / Lazy Oaf polo shirt / coloured Topman slacks & some great custom Vans that a dude from LA called Van Alpert made me. In the second one it's the same but I got a sweet little Lazy Oaf scarf on which I love. Then there's the one where I'm opening the shirt up, that's a shirt from a great new UK brand called Being Equal, which I love, the African-ish print is great, and the T-shirt is a Lazy Oaf wife beater (self-customised). The final look is a suit made up from a few different stores, with some polka dot touches & a Lazy Oaf hat (: Much like us Lazy Oaf's, you have your own T-shirt line, how did this start and what inspires your collections? It's always been something I've been really really really into & wanted to start but just had no clue where to begin, graphic T-shirts were hugely my thing when I was growing up & I always wanted to own a T-shirt line. I was really influenced by people like Ed Banger / Lazy Oaf / Freshjive / Supreme & when the blog started doing really well I just thought to myself "fuck - I might actually have a platform to launch this from." I did the first one (which was a white tee with a big tigers head on it), not really having any idea what would happen. Was delighted though as it sold out in a couple of days which led me to believe I might actually have a shot of building up a proper line. Since then I've released some more T-shirts / sweaters / prints & artist collaborations & preparing a new collection as we speak! What staple pieces do you think every man should have in his wardrobe? A blue or white Oxford shirt, a red tartan scarf, a very nice hat & a FucknFilthy T Shirt of course! (: What does the summer of 2011 hold for Josh Gordon? This summer should be a good one. The new FucknFilthy collection is nearly finished which consists of 7 T-shirts, 2 sweaters, 1 hoody, some 5 panel hats & lots of little goodies! It will be sold at the FucknFilthy pop up store - "The Filthy Club" which will be opening in Dublin city centre on the 17th of July & the online store which will be launching on the 27th of July. Really excited about the pop up shop, it's the biggest project I've ever undertaken & I have loads of exciting stuff planned for it, especially the opening! Then after that I'm off to LA & NY with my partners in crime Krystal Klear & Emison Wonder. After LA I'm off to one of my favourite places on earth - Manchester to chill & work on a pop up shop & a winter collection. And I'll be taking some pictures & playing some parties along the way (: Our Verdict: Josh has an excellent eye for pattern and colour and his outfits have been put together with precision. We love the clean, tailored look he has created in the final outfit with the brain hat thrown in for fun times. We are totally envious of his candy coloured customised Vans and want to steal those polka dot socks. Gold stars all round.
