we like this store..
Here at Lazy Oaf we are very fond of the Carnaby Street area, not only is it the home of our mind blowing oaf store but it's also home to many more special little stores to. We wanted to let you in on some of our favourites, working in the shop we're lucky enough to get to visit these hidden gems all the time so we want to share them with you (as if you need anymore reason to come and see us!) First up is The Lomography Shop. Ah Lomography, it may sound a bit 'techy' but they're in fact the people behind the beautiful, brightly colored plastic cameras you may see worn round peoples necks like jewellery. The store itself sells the Lomography cameras, books, film and little bits and pieces, it's a heaven for any photography lovers and although not one myself, I did find myself inquiring of the price of a couple of cameras with the cocky mantra in my head 'I bet I could do that'. And that's another lovely point to mention, the cameras don't cost a bomb, you can get a lovely little fish eye camera for £40! Nice thing about this store is it feels almost like you've walked in to the staffs own personal Lomography workshop, the walls are covered with their own photographs to create an impressive feature- aptly titled the 'lomo-wall'. To put it simply the whole wall of the shop has been covered in photographs, small ones, to make out a huge mural, it's darn impressive! Trust me, have a look, you'll go in thinking you'll have a browse to see what all the fuss is about, but you will come out wishing all your overexposed, not too flattering Facebook pics had been taken with one of these babys! The Lomography Shop (the only one the UK) is situated on Newburg Street, a street bursting with creative, independent little shops and a great stop off on the way to us or from us!
