A long way from gnome...

A long way from gnome...
There are many things you expect to do on a weekend in Devon, go to the beach and dip a toe in the sea, eat pasties, try your luck in the penny arcade even fly a kite. However this weekend I managed to find (and by find I mean drive for hours with a teeny, tiny map on the back of a pamphlet as our only guide) The Gnome Reserve, a magical Devonshire fantasy of thousands of gnomes inhabiting a mystical, sun-dappled woodland glen- as you may well tell, it moved me! On arrival to the Gnome Reserve you receive a sticker, a felt hat and fishing rod! Then you enter the gnome world, this is a serious collection there must have been hundreds including an gnome airport, a fair ground and G.N.A.S.A- a gnome space station! We had a few personal favourites that we felt stood out from the rest including the bambi gnome, cheeky bum gnome, snoozy gnome and the toadstool house. So if you ever find yourself in Devon you must spare a couple of hours to visit, it really is a credit to the county and the highlight of my weekend, (its up there with Disneyland) not to mention if you haven't already vomited with excitement they serve scones piled jam and cream and Devonshire Ice cream, amazing.
